IR HiRel wins two 2020 Military & Aerospace Electronics Innovators Awards

IR HiRel’s SupIR-SMD rad hard MOSFET packaging and M3GB 120V input hybrid DC-DC converter were recognized among the best by the 2020 Military & Aerospace Electronics Innovators Awards program.

More about these award-winning innovations:

SupIR-SMD rad hard MOSFET packaging
SupIR-SMD for rad hard MOSFETs is an innovative direct-to-PCB package design. Optimized for surface mount attach, SupIR-SMD is proven to meet the most stringent reliability testing in this configuration. The design features several innovations to relieve thermally-induced stress in the solder joint between the circuit board and the device package, while minimizing thermal and electrical resistance. The JANS-qualified SupIR-SMD package is 37% smaller, 34% lighter and capable of 33% higher current capacity than the nearest alternative.

M3GB 120V rad hard hybrid DC-DC converter
The rugged M3GB series is the industry’s first high input voltage rad hard DC-DC converter using hybrid technology capable of nominal 120V input voltage, up to 40W of output power and with models qualified to MIL-PRF-38534 Class K with DLA Standard Microelectronics Drawing (SMD). With a wide input voltage range, from 95V to 140V, the M3GB offers the availability of proven, off-the-shelf, fully qualified and fully documented hybrid converters in a compact 3” x 2” x 0.475” package that weighs less than 100g.
