Dual Output Asymmetric Isolated DC-DC Converter Series (22/26)
Asymmetric dual converters are isolated two-output DC/DC converters that typically provide two low output voltages such as 3.3 V and 1.8 V. This makes them ideal for powering the core and I/O logic of complex PLDs or ASICs. On DSL line cards, they can supply both DSPs and line drivers. In modern process-control systems, they enable the simultaneous operation of legacy 5 V logic and newer 3.3 V microcontrollers.
Asymmetric dual converters provide the space-saving and cost advantages of a single package with one input circuitry stage. On the output side, many dual converters feature so-called two-loop designs that effectively deliver two independently regulated converters within a single standard package with internationally recognized safety approvals.
