The 3,000 Watt 48S12.3K0BCA Bi-directional non-isolated DC/DC converter offers a comprehensive solution for in-vehicle power distribution with 12V/48V battery configurations, suitable for various applications including micro and mild hybrid automotive systems. This bi-directional converter operates in two modes: during normal operation (buck mode), it charges the low-side (12V) battery, while in emergency situations (boost mode), it charges or supports the high-voltage (48V) battery.
Functioning as an ideal current source with variable direction, the converter enables efficient energy transfer between two voltage domains. Voltage feedback ensures the output voltage remains within an acceptable operating range, allowing for a custom charging profile for the battery pack. The average current flow between the high and low voltage ports is regulated in the direction specified via a CAN interface.
The unit is housed in a compact, low-profile mechanical enclosure measuring 8.67” x 6.14” x 1.008” and weighs only 3.04 lbs. This packaging is designed to withstand harsh shock and vibration conditions, making it ideal for integration with a battery pack. It features three M8 bushings: two for power connections and one for ground connections.
